mad about scrappin dt post

hello everyone,
my turn over at mad about scrappin today
i had a gorgeous kit to creative with that had authentique: classique pretty papers in it with some gorgeous flowers and paper doilies....and a few other little things that you will see on my next post page.
so for this post i made this sign for my daughters bedroom door.

close up of the bottom part

a side view of the cluster

and a side view of the top so you can see the shimmer in the title

although the alphas weren't from mad about scrappin everything else you see on the sign is so please make sure you go and check out the store or our facebook page.
happy scrapping

christmas is on its way....

to be honest i love this time of year.
i live in the tropics and i love the heat and the humidity and the rain.
the smell of the rain and the bbq's because its too hot to cook inside, school holiday and hubby on holidays, being a family all together again, slowing down with days where we don't leave the house. and of course...christmas ...more importantly christmas lights!!!

when i saw this scraplet i just loved it... and i have made a sign out of it from mdf placemat that i'm sure i got from spotlight to go on the front door and next year when we have to move it will be a decoration that can come to the hotel with us so we still have a little christmas spirit.

all i have done to the holly and baubles corner and the december  months arrows
a2z scraplets is inked them, sprayed them with glimmermist pearl and added 3d liquid to the finer lines so they stood out a bit.

im hoping to get some more scrapping time in this week but life has been very busy and its just not happening....so hopefully i will be back soon with some more pages and an off the page kaiser banner im doing.

happy scrapping

new challenge over at mad about scrappin

i cant believe it has been 6 weeks since i have blogged.
actually i can becuase it was almost that long since i scrapped.
life jsut got busy and i found myself having to throw some time into my other job - the gym.
i love it i really do but its a lot of behind the scene work learning choreography and with children it takes a little extra time.

so here is a new design team i have found myself on.
the shop is called mad about scrappin and their monthly challenge which is now up on the facebook page is....

so i created this page

from Mas about scrappin i have used:
 teresa collins-save the date paper
paper doily
flowers
wire

others:
gesso
versacolor ink
a2zscraplets flourish
kaiser alphas

hope you get time to play alone and check out the store because
leanne has released some gorgeous kits but they are limited so you must be quick if you want one.
$25 and free postage i had to order myself one

i bought the notes and things (middle kit)
im cutting out the butterflies as soon as i have finished typing so that i can get started on a page to show you in the next 2 weeks.
happy scrappin

scrap it with attitude-august

janice nicholls is on the design team for a facebook scrapbooking site called Scrap it with attitude.
now although im not on facebook i still love to play along with these challenges when i can find the time. so janice set the challenge of using chipboard. an extremely easy challenge for me seeing as i am on the design team for a chipboard manufacture, so i set myself an extra little challenge which was to make the chipboard the focal point besides the photo itself.

so i have used an a2zscraplets doodlets and cut out the middle of it to form a love heart so i could put the pic inside it. when i write notes to the kids i always make a big love heart and then put a little i up on the outside on the left hand side and then a little u on the bottom right hand side. so i made my title the same way. this page is very much back to basics for me which is what im finding my style to be and have allowed myself to be ok with that. simple clean and minimal!! LOL

here is my pic

and  a close up of the crackle paint that i have covered the chipboard with

123 challenge - august

with having a newborn baby, 4 other children, dt requirements and being on my own a fair bit as hubby is away with work im finding that im not doing too many challenges these days, more participating in challenge sites that are inspirational to me and i can see a page pop into my head when i see the "challenge"
so when i saw the 123 challenge for august i started straight away. it only takes me so long to put it up cos i have to actually find time to print off the photos and then take the photos of my page complete and blog it...lol.
here is the challenge

i have pulled out some photos i have of my as a child to see the comparrison to my children now so this photo was in my head. it is of myself when i was 2 and 2 months standing infront of my next door neighbours house. im in a baby pink striped onsie.
the page is fairly simple with a few little touches that i jsut love.
stiching, inking and a bit of thread and a doily behind the photo.
here is it
and a close up

ouas and creative scrappers - july

hello again
another gorgeous sketch from nadia over at
with the theme of numbers

now this page is very close to my heart and i have actually made it a double page.
i have moved the title up to be along side the title on the other page.
now my journalling is on the other page so yes i have broken the rules a little but im not playing to win, just showing you that i was inspired by this challenge.
now because of my lack of creativity the other side of my page is based on the sketch from

this is the birth story (which i have yet to complete as i want to get the wording perfect in my draft) and photo of our new addition to the family.
baby number 5

lots of things inspired me about it.
the banner, pinks, ribbon/thread, flowers

satw and stuck?!-june challenges

jsut a quick post today.
i have combined 2 challenges so starting with the first one
here is their mood board

funnily enough everytime i looked at the board i just saw that bike.
our youngest son has just grown tall enough to be able to push the pedals all the way around and now thinks he is such a big kid going for bike rides.
unfortunately i had to cut my husbands head off the photo (lol) cos printing the photo smaller you just couldn't see the big smile on my sons face.

and the second challenge is from stuck?! sketches

here is my page

off the page projects

i have been waiting to show you these gorgeous boxes for about 2 months now as the scraplets were part of the march release for a2zscraplets, and im so excited to be able to say our new addition to the family has finally arrived and i have completed all my baby keepsake boxes.

i must admit i dont think im very creative as i simply cant create without a sketch so even though these arent pages i have used some old and new cardabilitlies sketches.

i love these scraplets, they were just so easy to use. they are great for project life and although i dont do project life i love leaving alot of white space on my pages so small scraplets are just perfect for me.

i have used the months arrows
i put a little gesso on them and then have inked lightly over the top to give that textured effect.

ok ok so here are my baby keepsake boxes in age order of my babies.

if you can find time to enter in the challenge over at a2zsscraplets they have a gorgeous little prize pack and a guest blog post for the winner.

A2Zscraplets june challenge-set by me

i cant believe its the first of june already.
so many fantastic challenges from so many great scrapping sites go up on the first and i hope you get time to play along with a2zscraplets challenge too.
you are more than welcome to combine challenges just as long as you mention A2Zscraplets and link back to us, that would be appreciated.

so i have set you a new challenge to make an ....OFF THE PAGE PROJECT
i love making them and i have some very special ones to show you later on this month but firstly i would like to show you my diet journal.

im due to have my 5th baby anyday now (as im currently overdue) and as well as finding time to scrap the gorgeous scraplets debra makes to show to you lovely ladies, i also instruct at a gym so health and fitness are very important to me. this journal is to keep me on track with my eating and exercising to loose weight after i have bub. i have used a note book from the news agency and covered it in cardstock. i love using the ringbinding ones as its so easy to take it off and cover properly and then place it back onto the note book.
and a close up of doodlet 27

and here is what it looks like when you buy it
(i have cut it in half and you might remember i used the other half for a worry box for my daughter last year)

i applied it with gesso with my finger and the lightly inked over the top.
arranged some flowers, leaves and vines to it then topped it off with a little butterfly and a simple quote.

im a list maker so making another note book is note so strange for me.
here it is

with chipboard that is as affordable as a2zscraplets and a few left over papers these make great gifts for teachers at the end of the school year or for a friend.

so now its your turn....link your projects up on the blog for a chance to win a great little prize and feel free to share them on our facebook page too.
i will be back later in the month to show you some more off the page projects i have made.
bye for now
