Let's get shabby #48

this month over at let's get shabby-

Its all about
Foliage greenery …. leaves and plant-form….
So long as its green!
Of course you can add anything else in any type of project you like(as long as its got paper/scrapbooking of sorts in it!)
It’s not about just using the colour green, we need to see your foliage, branches, leaves - greenery

so i had to play along.
as most of you know my husband is in the army and has previously served a few years in recon.
so as part of being in that unit he has a yowie suit.
its like you see in the movies where they have sticks and leaves covering them in their clothes.
the entire suit weighs a tonne due the extra material being sewn onto a set of camouflage clothing already and then a head peice to go with it. but anyway ....
this photo is from about 2 years ago and is of my eldest son (3 at the time).
he is wearing the head piece and laying on the ground in amongst the vine that grew on a pillar at the end of the patio. my husband had been playing with the kids and had made sniper rifles for them out of fisher price trio blocks!! lol
he (my husband) was so proud of himself and the kids had such a great time pretending to be daddy. well now the instructions for the blocks which make cute animals like a crab and a snail or things like robots and boats seem to only make guns, guns and more guns.
my husband showed his collegues the photos on his phone one day and then i get an sms asking what blocks they are and where i got them from. im sorry fisher price!! lol
so here is my page

and a close up

thanks for looking and any comments you may leave.

  2. Oh my gosh!!! LOVE THE camouflage canopy of leaves and vines... this is a wonderful intergration between the photo and embellishements extending the scene further... Also love that the torn out piece looks like a cavern or shelter behind to hide in too.
THis has a heap of wonderful design techniques in it! WELL DONE! (ooh and your little boy and gun are fabby too!)

  3. You have done an awesome job of the vine Bel; it looks like it is a part of the photo. There are so many beautiful layers that add depth and texture. It is so typical of boys to find a way to make a gun out of anything!

  6. This is a fabulous LO. The way you have used different textures to create an "earthiness", your colours and the fantastic way your chipboard embellishment looks just a continuation of the photo. Fantastic !! Thanks for playing along at Lets Get Shabby.
